XferMySite ("we," "us") is a general partnership registered in Ontario, Canada, operating the website xfermysite.com. We provide website migration services to clients in the United States and Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what you send us through our quote form or by email, we use it only to respond to you and deliver our services, and we never sell it.
What we collect
When you submit our quote request form, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, your current website's URL, the platform it's built on, your location (United States or Canada), and any message you include. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you send. Our website uses no cookies, no analytics trackers, and no advertising pixels. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and operational purposes.
How we use it
- To review your website and reply with a quote;
- To communicate with you about a project if you become a client;
- To perform the services described in our agreement with you;
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or send marketing emails you haven't asked for.
Who else touches your data
Our quote form is processed by Formspree, Inc., a form-handling service based in the United States, which transmits your submission to us by email. Our website and email are hosted by IONOS. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. Because our service providers operate in the United States, information you submit may be stored or processed there and may be subject to access by authorities under US law. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
Quote inquiries that don't become projects are deleted within twelve (12) months. Client project records are kept as long as needed to support your project and to satisfy legal and tax record-keeping requirements, then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) or under US state privacy laws, including the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at help@xfermysite.com and we will respond within 30 days. Canadian residents may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada with concerns.
Security
Our site is served exclusively over HTTPS, and we limit the information we collect to the minimum needed to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but a static website with no user accounts and no database keeps the surface area small by design.
Children
Our services are for businesses and website owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and our website is not directed to them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page.
