Why we host on IONOS (and how hosting your own site works)

A plain-English look at where we deploy the sites we rebuild, why IONOS is our default for US and Canada owners, and what "hosting your own HTML site" actually involves.

When we rebuild a site as clean HTML, it has to live somewhere. Our default is IONOS — not because it's the only option, but because it fits what our clients need: flat pricing, a strong footprint in the United States and Canada, and a platform we know well enough to set up and support smoothly.

Why IONOS

The point of owning your site is that the host is your choice, not a cage. IONOS is where we land by default — but the full migration-to-IONOS page explains the process, and we can deploy elsewhere if you prefer.

What "hosting your own site" actually involves

People imagine self-hosting is complicated. For a static HTML site it isn't. The files sit in your hosting account, your domain points at them, SSL is switched on, and that's it — there's no runtime, database or build pipeline to babysit. Compared with a builder's monthly subscription, it's fewer moving parts, not more.

Do you need to be technical?

No. We handle the setup — account, domain connection, SSL — and hand you a plain-English walkthrough for making edits. A change to your site is a text edit, not a support ticket. If you'd rather not touch it at all, we can maintain it for you.

Coming from a builder?

Whatever you're on now — Wix, Squarespace, Lovable or any of 50+ platforms — we rebuild your site as clean HTML and deploy it to IONOS under your account. Here's what owning it really means.

Questions

Hosting on IONOS — quick answers

Do I need an IONOS account already?

No. We help you set one up in your own name - you hold the login, billing and keys. If you already have one, we deploy straight into it.

Is hosting my own HTML site hard to maintain?

No. A static site has no runtime, database or build pipeline. Files sit in your account, your domain points at them, SSL is on - and edits are simple text changes.

What does it cost to run?

Your only recurring cost is your own IONOS hosting, typically under $20/month. The rebuild is a one-time fixed price and the audit is free.

Can I use a host other than IONOS?

Yes. IONOS is our default because we know it and it serves the US and Canada well, but your site is standard HTML so we can deploy it elsewhere if you prefer.
